Person-Centred care & Support

(HOME & LIVE-IN CARE)

Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Regulation 9

This regulation aims to ensure that individuals receiving care through STETSON Equality Care receive treatment that is specifically tailored to their needs. It outlines the process that we must take to provide appropriate, person-centred care and treatment based on an assessment of each person's unique needs and preferences.

STETSON will collaborate with vulnerable adults, making reasonable adjustments and providing support to help them understand their care and treatment options. This support will enable them to make informed decisions, including determining how much they wish to manage these options themselves.

STETSON will consider each individual's capacity and ability to consent, ensuring that either the individual or a legally authorized representative is involved in the planning, management, and review of their care and treatment. Decisions will be made by those with the legal authority to do so, in compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, which requires consultation with carers, families, and/or advocates when appropriate.
